General Notes: Husband - George Slear

---

He was born in Berks County, Pennsylvania, and as a young man came to Union County.
He was a Democrat, and served in the War of 1812.
He and his wife were both members of the Lutheran Church, of which he was an elder.

After his first marriage he located in West Buffalo township, and on coming to Buffalo township first rented land, but later bought, of Jonathan Van Valzah, what was known as the Sleckler farm. The place was later divided, and his son owned the western portion.
