General Notes: Husband - George Kapp
He and his wife were of German descent, and in 1817, with the Henlen and Sigworth families, re-moved to Venango (later Clarion) County, Pennsylvania, and formed a colony at Fryburg, being the first settlers of that region.
In George Kapp's family there were eight children\emdash four when they arrived, and four born to them afterwards. The boys were great hunters, and became well-to-do farmers, and useful members of the community. George Kapp in his time, and most of his descendants, were very skillful in the treatment of diseases of human beings, horses, and cattle; in those times bleeding was considered the principal remedy for all the ills that flesh was heir to. The generosity of George Kapp is demonstrated by the number of his country people whom he sheltered and befriended on their arrival in that wild country.
