General Notes: Husband - William Kamerer
He was born in Butler County, Pennsylvania, where he was reared and educated. During the Civil war he served first for a period of three months as a substitute, and at the expiration of that time reenlisted. Although he was never wounded except in the wrist. After it was organized he joined Chicora Post, G. A. R. He and his wife belonged to the Reformed Church. Politically he was a Republican, and he held numerous township offices.
He served in the army during the Civil War, first in the Sixty-Second Regiment of Pennsylvania Infantry, and afterward in the Fourteenth Pennsylvania Cavalry Regiment.
He and his wife had twelve children; two daughters who died in childhood, and ten sons, two of whom were deceased before 1914.
