General Notes: Husband - David Jung


He became a teacher in Armweiler at eighteen, resigned in 1827, and became actuary and recorder for the city of Bergzabern, in Palatinate. In 1829 he entered the school of Architecture and Building at Heidelberg University. In 1830 he matriculated at the University of Munich, and there graduated. In 1831 he was appointed engineer of water, highway and bridge building of the Canton Kaiserslautern.
In August, 1832, he was as­signed as chief engineer of the Cantons Durk­heim and Neustadt am Hardt. He became in­volved in the revolution of 1832 and 1848, in which latter he served as commandant of the city of Neustadt, and colonel of the revolution­ary army. He was defeated June 14, 1849, at Wag'hausel, and fled to America, whither his family followed in the “Lorena” from Rotter­dam, 1850.
