General Notes: Husband - Joseph B. Judson
He left the farm and came to Venango County, Pennsylvania, in 1912 to work as a barber, in the meanwhile having acquired an education in Connecticut and Michigan schools to learn a trade. In 1918 he started a dairy, operating from his farm nearby. In 1920 he moved to Franklin, continuing the dairy business on a larger scale. He found it difficult to get established, but the business grew, and in 1926 he built a much larger and thoroughly up-to-date dairy factory. He employed on the average some sixteen people; all equipment was of the most modern type, and distribution was of unusually wide scope. A retail outlet was also maintained in the establishment. His sons, Joseph and Lewis became partners in the business that was known as Judson's Dairy Products.
Joseph B. Judson was a Democrat in his political allegiance. Fraternally, he was affiliated with the Loyal Order of Eagles, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and the Loyal Order of Moose. He was a popular Kiwanian, and president of the board of directors of the Community Chest, and president of the board of directors of the Young Men's Christian Association, both of Franklin.
