The Boyd Family book states:
He came from France to fight for the English against the Colonists, but after arrival he became a Colonist, and it is thought he settled in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. His son, William, never left Pennsylvania.
His Hoover ancestors came to the United States in 1710.
-it is difficult to understand what might be meant by this passage.
