General Notes: Husband - John Randolph Artherholt
He grew up on the homestead, and attended the district schools of his neighborhood. In March, 1872, he entered the employ of D. B. Packard & Co., crockery dealers, with whom he remained for about four years. He then attended commercial college at Mount Union, Ohio, for one term. In April, 1876, he purchased an interest in the queensware store of E. P. Beckwith & Co., the firm name remaining as before. In the spring of 1877 James Loutzenhiser and L. D. Leech bought interests in the business, and the firm of Artherholt & Co. was established. In December, 1881, Mr. Leech retired from the business, and Messrs. Artherholt and Loutzenhiser continued to carry on one of the largest business houses of Greenville. He was an unswerving Democrat, and a member of the Masonic fraternity.
