General Notes: Husband - Milton A. Van Horn
He attended school in Northfield Township and continued to assist on the home farm until his marriage. He later owned a farm of fifty acres on which he resided until 1903, conducting it mainly as a dairy farm, making a choice grade of butter and cheese. He erected a comfortable and attractive home residence at Northfield Center, where he resided after retiring from the farm in 1903. For nearly thirty years he served as a member of the school board, being elected by the Republican party in 1878. He was an active member of the United Presbyterian Church, of which he was clerk. For a period of forty years he was choir master of this church and also served as Sunday-school superintendent.
