General Notes: Husband - William L. Johnston

He learned the carpenters' trade and worked at the business for a number of years. During the Civil War he enlisted in company A, 135th regiment Pennsylvania volunteers\emdash served nine months, and was discharged at Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. After his return, he worked at his trade for sometime. He purchased a farm in 1873, and thereafter engaged in farming.
