General Notes: Husband - Joseph Lyle

He married and they lived until the autumn of 1870 on a farm which was a part of the old John Lyle homestead in Washington County, Pennsylvania. They then removed to Kansas where he engaged in the mercantile business. Later he and his family removed to California where most of his later life was spent. He lived in and near San Francisco but was also in Alaska for a time during the gold rush there.

Their children:
1. Alice Lyle m. Asal Gregory of New York City on Dec. 9, 1891. They resided in California.
2. Mary Lyle m. Marcus E. Clute, and they lived in or near San Francisco, California.
3. Jennie Lyle was married, but the name of her husband and whether they had a family or not, is unknown. She died in California on May 13, 1916.
4. Benjamin Lyle was born about 1878 and lived in California where his death occurred Nov. 17, 1938.
5. John Herron Reed Lyle was born in a log house on the Lyle farm near Hickory on May 9, 1865. In 1942 he was still residing in Burney, Shasta County, California, where he owned a general store. He was married and had a daughter, Miriam, who was born on Oct. 17, 1908. Her married name was Pearson and she had two children: Mary Lou Pearson, born May 8, 1934 and John Lyle Pearson, born June 28, 1935.
