He lived at Westminster, Massachusetts, until 1827, then moved to Moreau, Saratoga County, New York. He was a farmer and a cabinetmaker. A clock, made by him, was in the possession of his granddaughter, Mrs. Waid, one hundred years later.

The Holden family is a Westminster, Massachusetts, family, and also found in other places in that state.

She came to Guys Mills, Crawford County, Pennsylvania, after her husband's death, and was a member of the Congregational church.
