General Notes: Husband - William K. Speer
After completing his early schooling at Harrisville, Pennsylvania, William K. Speer attended Butler Business College. He then worked in the coal mines of Butler County until March, 1921, when he accepted the office of postmaster. During the first World War he served as a member of the Student Army Training Corps.
Politically, Mr. Speer was a Republican. He held membership in the Presbyterian church, and belonged to the Knights of Pythias and American Legion.
