General Notes: Husband - Samuel Shirey
He and his wife were both natives of Berks County, Pennsylvania, where they grew up together and were married, coming about 1833 to Clarion County, where they settled on a farm in Richland township, that remained their home until their deaths.
He was a pioneer farmer in Clarion County, Pennsylvania, and was a stalwart Democrat in his political convictions. In religious matters he was a devout member of the Reformed church.
