General Notes: Husband - Stephen Myers

His early years were spent at home and in attendance of the common schools, where he acquired a good education. After leaving school he followed the drover business for a few years. Soon after his marriage he began business for himself, and in 1852 moved onto the farm of 127 acres which later became the property of his son Wilson. He was a successful business man, and was much interested in all matters pertaining to progress in education. He was a Republican, and was elected to the offices of assessor and school director, which positions he held with credit for many years. Both he and his family were members of the United Presbyterian Church.
