General Notes: Husband - Joseph C. Snyder

He was born on the family homestead farm, received a common school education, and at the age of twenty-one engaged in merchandising, which business he followed for a few years at West Liberty, Pennsylvania. He then purchased a farm of 141 acres, to the cultivation and improvement of which he thereafter devoted his attention. He was a stanch Republican, was elected justice of the peace in 1876, and served five years. He also filled the office of school director, and was quite active in the local councils of his party. He was a member of Muddy Creek Presbyterian church, in which society he served as trustee.
