General Notes: Husband - Daniel D. Hixson
He was brought up on the family homestead. With the exception of the four years of the civil war, during which he resided in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, his life was passed as a farmer in his native township. In 1865 he purchased the homestead, consisting of sixty acres, which he devoted to the purpose of general farming. For some years he was engaged in raising nursery stock with which he supplied a large extent of territory. He and his family were members of Wesley chapel, Methodist Episcopal church, of which he was one of the trustees. He and his wife were among the most ardent supporters of the church, having been especially active in the work of the Sunday school.
