Julia Jacoby Becomes Bride Today Of Paul Lusher, 100 at Reception
Miss Julia Marie Jacoby, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. M. Jacoby, of Franklin RD 2, became the bride of Paul Edward Lusher, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Lusher, of 817 Liberty Street, in an impressive ceremony at 1 p. m. today in St. Patrick's Church.
Vases of white gladioli in a banking of palms formed the setting for the double ring service performed by Rev. Bernard Webber.
Wayne Tenney presented the organ prelude. He included "Ave Maria," by Schubert; "Panis Angelicus" and "Awakening" in his selections, and accompanied Mrs. James Caralla, who sang "Mother at Thy Feet is Kneeling" and "On This Day, Oh Beautiful Mother."
Given in marriage by her father, the bride was radiant in a street-length dress of white lace over satin, fashioned on empire lines with bateau neckline and elbow length sleeves. A narrow satin ribbon accented the fitted mid-riff and featured a front bow with streamers.
Her veil of illusion was secured by a cap of lace and she carried a white Bible, topped with a bouquet of white carnations showered with streamers knotted with hyacinth blossoms. All the bridal traditions were carried out, and she wore a pearl necklace and earrings, the gift of the bridegroom.
Mrs. Charles Haun Jr., as her sister's matron of honor, wore a turquoise crystalette dress and carried a colonial bouquet of pink carnations. Her turquoise headdress was adorned with a brief veil scattered with tiny crystalette bows.
Albert Solle accompanied the bridegroom as best man. The ushers were Donald Jacoby and James Lusher.
For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Jacoby selected a two-piece navy blue dress, complemented with poudre blue accessories and a corsage of light blue carnations. The bridegroom's mother wore a poudre blue lace jacket dress with matching accessories and a corsage of pink carnations.
A reception is being held for 100 guests in the Business Women's Club this afternoon. The spring motif is carried out in the decorations. An arrangement of yellow forsythia centers the serving table, and the four-tiered wedding cake is topped with pink rosebuds. Milk glass candle holders and bowls are used on the bridal table, and the favors are turquoise and pink sugar mint cups.
The aides are Miss Nancy Kunkel, Mrs. Lawrence Keane, Mrs. Larry Buckley and Mrs. Vern Siverling.
Following a wedding trip to Washington, D. C., the couple will reside at 140 Grant Street. For traveling the bride chose a black and white checked weskit suit with red accessories and her wedding corsage.
The new Mrs. Lusher was graduated from Rocky Grove High School in 1956 and was previously employed at the First National Bank. Her husband was graduated from Franklin High School in 1953. He served three years with the U. S. Army and is now employed at Franklin Steel Division of Borg-Warner.
Out-of-town guests at the wedding were from Akron, O., Springville and Oil City.
