General Notes: Husband - Hon. John W. Rohrer
He was reared at Kittanning, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, where he read law with John S. Rhey, and was admitted to the bar. He served three terms as district attorney of the county, and was elected as a member of the Pennsylvania legislature in 1859. In 1864 he became editor and proprietor of the Armstrong Democrat and Sentinel, which under his administration became a prosperous democratic journal.
He was a member of the Masonic fraternity and Kittanning Protestant Episcopal church, of which he was a vestryman for many years.
