General Notes: Husband - Walter F. Stauffer
He received his early education in the common schools and then attended the Mt. Pleasant Institute, from which he was graduated in the class of 1887. He was a student at Lafayette College for about one year, and then accepted a position in the Scottdale Bank as bookkeeper. In 1895 he was appointed cashier. He was president of the Crescent Manufacturing Company of Scottdale, treasurer of the Scottdale Foundry and Machine Company, and a director of the Westmoreland Savings & Trust Company. He was a member of the Baptist church of Scottdale, the services of which he regularly attended, and to the support of which he contributed liberally. He was a Thirty-second degree Mason, having affiliated with Gourgas Lodge of Perfection, Pittsburgh.
