General Notes: Husband - James D. Boale
He was reared on the farm, receiving his education in the common schools. Soon after his marriage he moved to Leechburg, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, where he resided until his death. For a number of years he was engaged in various business enterprises, including the drug industry, and for fifteen years or more was humane officer of his district. He served one term as burgess of Leechburg. He affiliated with the Republican party and was a member of the Reformed Presbyterian church.
He served with the heavy artillery of the Union Army during the Civil War.
