General Notes: Husband - Theodore J. Highberger
When about twenty years old he became a teacher, taking charge of schools for nine winter terms, and during the summer months managing the home farm. Upon the death of his father he became the owner of a portion of the homestead and resided there until 1893. In that year he purchased another farm, situated half a mile from West Newton, Pennsylvania, to which he moved, still retaining possession of the homestead. For some years he carried on a dairy business in connection with the labors of his farm. He belonged to the K. O. T. M. of West Newton, and his political affiliations were with the Democratic party. He was a member and trustee of the Presbyterian church of West Newton.
