General Notes: Husband - John Armbrust

He was born in Germany and came to the United States on board the second German ship that ever sailed from that empire to America, which took thirteen weeks to make the trip, landing in Philadelphia. He was a printer by trade and edited a German paper at Greensburg, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, known as the "Star of the West", and afterwards became editor of the "True Democrat". He was a well educated man and taught German schools in the county for several years. He was a democrat who always worked unceasingly for the welfare of his party; a Lutheran who never neglected any duty of his church.

He was of German birth, the Kingdom of Wurtemburg, in that country, being his native place, and he was highly educated in France before coming to America. He was a teacher in the early parochial school in part of Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, also conducted a number of singing classes and was organist in the First Lutheran Church of Greensburg for many years.
He died at the age of sixty-six; his wife died six years later.
