SAMUEL F. McMULLEN - Sandycreek Township
Samuel McMullen, son of Galbrath and Sarah McMullen, was born April 26, 1852. At the time our subject made his appearance into the world his father was proprietor of a hotel in Waterloo (now Polk), noted for its hospitality, during the stage coach days.
Mr. McMullen was united in marriage December 30, 1871, to Miss Anna Herron, deceased, of Polk. Four of the six children born to them are living-George, Nellie, John B., and Grover.
During the late George Allen's term as Mayor of Franklin Mr. McMullen was a member of the city police force. In the latter 80's he moved to Michigan, where he was engaged in the meat trade until 1898, when he returned to Venango county, where he has since been engaged in farming.
