General Notes: Husband - John "Hans" Herr

He came to America from Switzerland in 1710, bringing with him his four sons, and others of his friends; he had five sons married, but Christian had come to America before the rest of the family.

He was a native of Switzerland, and in 1709 located in what became Lampeter Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, near Willow Street. His settlement antedated the purchase of the land from William Penn. Prosperity attended his labors in the New World, he became a farmer and large land owner, and died well-to-do in this world's goods. In religious faith he was a Mennonite.
