Lancaster Co, PA

He lived on the farm alongside of that on which his father lived, and he devoted his time principally to literature; he wrote some eight or ten books of poems. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Legislature for three years, 1836, 1837 and 1838.

He and his wife had five sons and three daughters.
