He came from Hingham, England, to Hingham, Massachusetts, in 1638, with his wife and two servants, Thomas Sucklin and Richard Baxter. He became a proprietor at Hingham and was admitted a freeman May 10, 1643. His house was burned in May, 1647. He owned land at Conihasset. His widow was appointed administratrix of his estate, and on July 12, 1688, she administered on the estate of her son Philip.
