General Notes: Husband - Earl Frederick Herold


He attended the public schools of Summit and Center townships, Butler County, Pennsylvania, and West Sunbury Academy, and North Washington Institute, after which he taught school in Butler County for four years. He then took a course at Duff's Commercial College, Pittsburgh, from which he was graduated in 1913. He served as assistant secretary of the University Club, Pittsburgh, and in 1914 came to Butler as bookkeeper for the Butler Savings & Trust Company. In January, 1925, Mr. Herold was made auditor, and was also manager of the bond department.

He was a member of the American Institute of Banking, chairman of the auditing committee of the Board of Commerce, past vice president of the Butler County Motor Association, and treasurer of the Sterling Club of Butler. Among the Masonic organizations of which he was a member are: Butler Lodge, No. 272, F. and A. M., past master, 1923-1924; Butler Chapter, No. 273, R. A. M., high priest; New Castle Council, R. S. M. M.; Lorain Commandery, K. T. No. 87, captain general, and served five years as recorder; New Castle Consistory, thirty-second degree, junior warden seventh degree in the Consistory; Syria Temple, A. A. O. N. M. S., Pittsburgh; Syria Caravan, No. 14, Butler, Pennsylvania, assistant secretary; and member of the advisory council for Lorain Chapter DeMolay and adviser for the Chapter. Mr. Herold was a Republican and belonged to St. Mark's Lutheran Church.

She graduated from Franklin Township High School in 1910, and attended Franklin Musical Institute. She was a member of Butler Chapter of the Eastern Star, No. 45, and served as secretary for four years.
