General Notes: Husband - Leonard Herbach
He was a contractor and builder. He moved to Baltimore, Maryland, during the Revolution, and built many of the early churches, taverns, warehouses and dwellings in that city. In 1792 he removed to Washington, and built the first War and Treasury Offices, besides doing a great deal of work for the Executive Mansion and the Capitol.
