General Notes: Husband - William Henry

After the death of his father he decided to find another field of work. He found employment at Allegheny City, Pennsylvania, where he remained until 1872 and then settled at Petrolia, in But­ler County. In the meanwhile he had been working in the oil fields and after moving to Allegheny Township, in 1878, continued to be connected with the oil industry. For twenty years he lived in Allegheny Town­ship and had a wide circle of friends there and many business acquaintances. Beginning in 1898 he maintained his home in Venango Township, where he was numbered with the substantial men and useful citi­zens. In politics, he was a stanch Re­publican. With his wife he belonged to the Methodist Episcopal Church at Eau Claire. He was a member of Allegheny Lodge, F. & A. M., No. 552, at Emlenton.
