General Notes: Husband - Furman Stewart


He attended the com­mon schools of his native vicinity, and later took a course at an academy, after leaving which he engaged in agricultural pursuits. He owned a fine farm of 120 acres in Washington Township, Butler County, PA, on which he erected a handsome resi­dence, his father having built all of the other farm buildings. In his political views, he was a Republican. He attended the Presbyterian Church at Pleasant Valley.
