General Notes: Husband - Thomas P. Humes

---

He acquired his education in the public schools in the vicinity of his home, assisting his father on the farm in his leisure time, and thus acquiring a practical knowledge of farm work. His own farm consisted of one hundred and fifty acres of land, cultivated for general products, and dairy farming. As a supporter of Democratic principles, Mr. Humes took a prominent part in local political affairs, and served as school director, supervisor of roads, and several other offices. His fraternal affiliation was with the Free and Accepted Masons.
