General Notes: Husband - Charles Henderson Hutchison
He was born in Homestead, PA, and removed to McKeesport, PA, where he resided for 90 years. He was employed as a roller for the Dewees Wood Works of the Carnegie-Illinois Steel Corp., and later as a carpenter for the National Tube Co. After he was pensioned by the National Tube Co., he worked as a collector of the Fifth Ave. Bridge when it was a toll bridge. He retired from this job at the age of 87 years. He served for almost twenty years as Alderman from the Tenth Ward. A newspaper account of his death April 15, 1943, stated, "Until four years ago Mr. Hutchinson had never missed an opening National League baseball game of the Pittsburgh Pirates at Forbes Field. He continued to attend games even after his eyesight began to fail and last year (1942) after he suffered complete loss of his vision. He was a close friend of many league players, including Honus Wagner, old-time star of the Pirates. He was a spectator at every opening game played by the Pirates at home for half a century. He missed his first inaugural because it was played on Sunday several years ago, then reluctantly stayed at home last spring (1943) because of illness." He was one of the oldest members of the United Presbyterian Church on Atlantic Avenue.
