General Notes: Husband - James Henderson

He was reared on a farm and received his education in the subscription schools of that day. At thirteen years of age he went to reside with Robert McCormick, his uncle. Upon arriving at man's estate he engaged in farming as his life vocation. He purchased the McCormick in 1879 and gave his attention to farming and stock-raising.
In his political views Mr. Henderson was a stanch democrat who believed in "free-trade" as necessary to the prosperity of the United States.
He owned a fertile farm of sixty-four acres of land.
