General Notes: Husband - Cooper Ray

The Rays constitute one of the old families of Connecticut, of Colonial and Revolutionary record, Peter Ray having fought in the Continental army during the struggle for independence. There is presumptive evidence that Cooper Ray was a nephew of Peter Ray.

He was born in New Haven, Connecticut, and with his own family, travelling in company with two other households, migrated to Crawford County, Pennsylvania, making the journey in covered wagons and spending forty days on the road.
