He and his wife emigrated to America [from Germany?] in 1854. With their five children they located near Troutville, in Brady township, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, where they made their home for about five years, and then their son Henry purchased 135 acres of timber land of James B. England, and his parents went to live with him, continuing there until their death.
