General Notes: Husband - James Hudson
He came originally from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, and made the journey westward across the mountains with his family. He settled on a farm in Unity township, Westmoreland County, on the site of the present village of Pleasant Unity, and here he purchased considerable property which he cleared and cultivated, and whereon he engaged in agricultural operations. He also followed the trade of carpenter, one of the first buildings which he worked upon after his arrival being the old Null House in Greensburg. He lived to be nearly ninety years of age. and continued a surprising amount of activity to the end. He was a Democrat in his political faith, and a staunch member of the Presbyterian Church
