He was married in 1864, and shortly after, or about 1869, removed to near McMinnville, Tennessee. After living there for four years, he returned to Indiana County, Pennsylvania, and settled soon after on the farm known as the "Sloan," and later as the "Bruce" farm. Mr. Hart afterward purchased this farm.
