General Notes: Husband - John Carothers Haymaker
He remained at home on the farm, and attended Laird Institute at Murrysville, Pennsylvania, until he began to read law with his brother, J. S. Haymaker, in 1872. He was admitted to the bar of Pittsburgh in 1875, and was elected assistant district attorney by the republican party in the fall of 1887, taking his seat January 1, 1888.
