General Notes: Husband - Joseph Iddings
Having received a good education when a boy and young man, he turned his attention to teaching, and was one of the first school-teachers in Lawrence County, Pennsylvania. He followed farming as an occupation in later years.
When a young man he went to sea, and when he returned home after a three-years' absence he became a student of a college in Pennsylvania, from which he graduated. He spent the remainder of his life in agricultural pursuits and educational work.
He married and removed to Lawrence County in 1820. They were Quakers in religious belief.
Notwithstanding his Quaker prejudices and beliefs, Joseph Iddings was a participant in the War of 1812.
