General Notes: Husband - Thomas Logan

He was born in Allegheny County, PA, and came to Armstrong County in 1836, in its pioneer days, being one of the prominent citizens of the locality throughout his lifetime, and the leading farmer in his district. He owned five hundred acres of land at what is now Logansport. He was one of the early fruit growers of the region, and besides the brick residence which he erected he put up a brick building for fruit which was later occupied as a dwelling house.

He was born on the family home­stead in Allegheny County, PA. In early life he was a distiller at Bakerstown, continuing in that business ten years, and then came to Arm­strong County. There he bought a large farm, which he operated the balance of his life. The town of Logansport was named after him. For many years prior to his demise he had been a member of the Presby­terian Church, serving same as elder for sev­eral years.

He died April 13, 1897. [HAC 1914, 716] gives a completely different date for his demise from [HAC 1914, 703]
