General Notes: Husband - Henry Paul Lauffer
He attended the district school and at the age of eighteen years engaged in farming and stock-raising, which he conducted successfully throughout the active years of his career. He made a special study of legal affairs and therefore was competent to give counsel and advice along those lines, his services being frequently sought and freely tendered. In 1872 he was elected justice of the peace for Penn township and for ten years was the incumbent of the office, discharging his duties in an efficient manner. For many years he was one of the active and influential members of the Reformed church at Harrison City, and since attaining manhood gave his allegiance to the Democratic party.
He and his second wife had seven children; three died in infancy.
