General Notes: Husband - Hezekiah Rowe

He received the limited education of his boyhood days and left the farm to learn the trade of cooper which he followed until 1861. In that year he purchased and removed to a farm which was in the northern part of the township. It contained one hundred and ninety-three acres of gently-rolling land, which was well watered and on which were good buildings and two fine bearing orchards. His large brick residence, which was modern in style and arrangement, was heated and lighted throughout by natural gas.
He was a consistent member and a trustee of the Merwin Methodist Episcopal church, of whose Sunday school he was superintendent for several years.

With his second wife he had twelve children, of whom five sons and four daughters were living in 1890.
