General Notes: Husband - Dr. Christ S. Mohney, M.D.

Reared in Millville, Pennsylvania, he began his education in the common schools of that place, and later attended the West Millville Seminary for four terms. He was also a student in the seminary at Bellview, Jefferson County, for one term, and, having thus obtained a good education, he began teaching at the age of sixteen years-a profession he successfully followed for ten consecutive terms. During the last two he read medicine with Dr. A. M. Mohney, his brother, who was engaged in practice in Leatherwood, Pennsylvania. In 1885 he entered the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Baltimore, Maryland, where he graduated two years later, and he at once opened an office in Putneyville. After a year and a half spent in that place he came to Callensburg, where he soon succeeded in building up a large and lucrative practice. For four years or more he served as secretary of the County Medical Society, and was also an honored member of the State and National Medical Associations.
The Doctor was a Master Mason, a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, the American Mechanics and the Knights of the Maccabees. Deeply interested in his profession, he was a close student of medical journals
He and his wife were both members of the Reformed Church.
