General Notes: Husband - John Hauger
He was born in Somerset County, Pennsylvania, and came with his parents to Cook township, Westmoreland County. For many years he followed the trades of carpenter and blacksmith, later purchasing of John Binkey a farm of one hundred and forty acres.
On March 9, 1865, he enlisted, at Somerset, Pennsylvania, in the One Hundred and First Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteers, unassigned company, Captain William S. Harrah, for a term of one year. On June 25, 1865, he was discharged near Berne, North Carolina.
He was a Republican and active in township affairs, holding the office of supervisor. He was originally a member of the Presbyterian church, but later joined the Methodist Episcopal church, Stahlstown, occupying a seat on its board of trustees.
