He was born June 11, 1808. [HVC 1890, 1027]
In 1836 he made a journey down the Ohio and Mississippi rivers, returning by way of Chicago, then a small village.
He was a member of the Methodist church, and politically a Prohibitionist.
He had seven children with his first wife; three were still living in 1890.
