General Notes: Husband - Harry M. Harton
He acquired an excellent education in the public schools of his native town, and at a suitable age entered the contracting business of his father, and later established himself in the same line of business. For a number of years he was also engaged in the lumber business, and sold his lumber yard in 1913. He never desired to hold public position, as his large business responsibilities would not permit him to devote time to politics, but he cast his vote in the interests of the Republican party. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.
