He married and located on a farm in South Brady, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, belonging to his father. Two years later he purchased what was known as the Samuel Troy farm near Luthersburg, and after living there four years he sold the place and moved to Indiana County, near Cherry Tree, where he remained six years. He later resided in Kansas City, Missouri, where he was engaged in milling.
