General Notes: Husband - Orion Siggins

He was reared on the old family homestead, where he always thereafter resided, following farming up to 1877, after which time he was in the real estate business, also lumbering quite extensively. He was one of the prominent and leading citizens of Forest County, Pennsylvania, full of vim and enterprise, and always ready and willing to give liberally of his means for the welfare of the community in which he lived. He donated the grounds for the fine tannery and for numerous other purposes at West Hickory; gave large possessions to the Western New York & Pennsylvania Railroad; also assisted in the construction of other public benefits, and by this liberal policy founded what became a flourishing town.

He was carefully reared and fitted to take charge of the wide range of interests which fell to him upon the death of his father. He proved himself a man of business ability both as a lumberman and an oil producer, thereby accumulating an amount sufficiently large to rank him among the financiers of Forest County.

General Notes: Wife - Mary Alice Hall

For many years she was a member of the Woman's Club of Tidioute, Pennsylvania, the Warren Woman's Club, the Belles Lettres Club of Oil City, the League of Women Voters, president of the Forest County Women's Christian Temperance Union, Past Regent of the Daughters of the American Revolution, basing her right to membership on the services of Reuben Hall who, with his four brothers, was a member of the Pennsylvania Militia in the Continental Army.
