General Notes: Husband - John A. Hunter
He received a common-school education and began farming for himself at the age of seventeen years. In 1870 he came to McDonald, Washington County, Pennsylvania, there following the business of a builder and contractor, and he erected many of the buildings in the town.
He attended the common schools of Cecil Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, until he reached the age of fourteen years. He then engaged in farming with his father, an occupation which he followed until reaching his twenty-fifth year, when he learned the carpenter's trade. In 1870 he came to McDonald, and thereafter was actively engaged in working at his trade. In his political views he was a Republican, but he never sought nor cared for public office. He was the owner of considerable valuable McDonald real estate.
