He was born in 1834. [HAC 1914, 461]

Civil War: he was in Company M, 59th Pennsylvania Regiment, 2d Cavalry; was wounded in the right arm at Gettysburg.

In the early days of the oil development in western Pennsylvania he was a successful producer at Parker's Landing, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania. He later moved to Ohio, thence to Sawtelle, California, where his widow
and their son Harding continued to reside. Mr. Wyant died while on a trip to his native state about 1914.
